History

The Saracens Head Hotel is a historic, family run hotel in the heart of Southwell, Nottinghamshire. As of April 2011, the hotel has undergone an extensive refurbishment that includes all public areas and bedrooms. The Elizabethan charm and unique character of the Saracens Head remain in abundance, whilst a new management team has been appointed to ensure that customer service remains of the highest standard.

The Restaurant

Executive Head Chef Dave Dukowicki has raised the standard for diners in the hotel’s Lord Byron Restaurant, an elegant oak paneled room that dates back to the 17th Century.

The seasonal bistro style menu is executed with a traditional flare that has gained Dukowicki an impressive reputation for superb quality, consistency, style and presentation.

The Hotel

The Saracens Head Hotel offers 27 ensuite bedrooms, one of which most famously accommodated King Charles I the night before he surrendered to the Scottish Commissioners during the Civil War.
